Was around tide
At night you'd see it.
Wasn't my fear.
That is not there.
It wasn't my fear
'Cause I dig deep.
Why don't you?
I dig deep
Why don't you?
It was a rager
idle night now.
Wouldn't look in.
Wouldn't look into your eyes.
I wanna feel.
Understand.
Why don't you?
I dig deep.
Why don't you?
'Cause I love in two stages
There's the eyes
There's the quarter drop
Yeah, I love in two stages.
I love in two
Yeah, I love in two stages
There's a kiss
There's a quarter drop
Would I lie?
(Who's afraid, you?)
It's around tide
At night you'd see it
It wasn't my fear
It is not there
It was never my fear
'Cause I dig deep
Why don't you?
'Cause I love in two stages
There's your eyes
There's a quarter drop.

I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop

Alvvays has always been great, but with this album they took it to the next level. Every one of these songs is lodged in my brain now, permanently (in a good way). s. moxley
